Frequently Asked Questions
I haven't received a notification yet. Should I be worried?
Not necessarily. USCIS sends notifications in batches over 1-2 weeks. Keep checking your account daily. If your status still shows "Submitted" after 2-3 weeks, contact USCIS or your attorney.
Can there be a second lottery round?
Yes. If initial petition filings are lower than expected, USCIS may conduct additional lottery rounds to fill the 85,000 cap. This typically happens in August-September. Registrations remain valid.
I was selected for multiple employers. What happens?
Only one registration per beneficiary can be selected. If you were registered by multiple employers, only one employer's registration will show "Selected." The others will show "Not Selected."
Does wage level affect selection under the new system?
Yes! FY 2027 uses wage-weighted selection. Level IV workers receive 4 lottery entries while Level I receives only 1 entry. This significantly improves odds for higher-paid workers. Use our lottery calculator to estimate your odds.
